Navigating family law matters in Pennsylvania

Family law is one of the most delicate areas of the law to navigate. That is because nothing in this type of law is "cut and dry." On both sides of the equation, the parties are balancing their emotional concerns, which can seem irrational to the other side, with the cold hard facts of their situations. The lawyers representing these parties are then tasked with advocating for their clients' legal rights, while also trying to achieve certain goals that could be purely sentimental in nature.

At Bononi & Company, we have grown to become highly experienced in balancing all of our clients' needs, and advocating for them through negotiation and litigation, while doing our best to treat the other side with diplomacy.

The following list is a sampling of the kinds of cases we take on:

-- Divorce: Depending on the attitude of the parties, whether children are involved and how much money and assets need to be divided, divorces can range in complexity. When a complex divorce involves competing attitudes, spouses will want to have an experienced family law advocate on their sides.

-- Child custody and visitation: Most parents will agree that it is in their child's best interest to visit with the other parent. However, this is not always the case. Whether you feel your child could be hurt by your ex-partner, or if you feel that your visitation rights are being compromised, it may be necessary to assert your and your child's legal rights under the law.

-- Alimony and child support: Alimony and child support are not intended to be a "free ride" for anyone. There are real reasons why such support laws have been put into place in Pennsylvania, and they have helped a lot of people. However, these laws are sometimes abused. They might be abused by a father who refuses to pay the alimony and/or child support he is obliged to pay. Or, they could be abused by the person receiving the support money. Either way, legal action may be required to sort out such conflicts.

Are you in the throws of a family-related legal dispute? It could be time to pursue a court case to protect your rights. At Bononi & Company, our legal counselors are available to listen to your story and provide advice about your legal rights and options.
